The Mann Made team built Africa’s very first metaverse – Africarare! Africarare is a 3D virtual reality experience, powered bythe Ethereum blockchain, and set in Ubuntuland, a virtual worldwhich marries creativity, crypto, and commerce.
Ubuntuland aims to showcase African creativity, and allows users to create, experience and monetize creative content and applications. Ubuntuland plots are non-fungible, transferrable, scarce digital assets stored in an Ethereum smart contract. The development and launch of Africarare, executed by our brilliant technical team, epitomises Mann Made’s pioneering spirit and commitment to boldly pursuing the technologies of the future.

Mzansi Quest
Mzansi Quest is one of the most audacious, proudly South African projects Mann Made has taken on!
Built for Jacaranda FM and Tracker, Mzansi Quest was a free online game in which players were able to participate in a virtual treasure hunt in the hopes of winning the grand prize of R50 000. Our brilliant developers were able to recreate some of South Africa’s most iconic locations and most precious artefacts for users to explore in the elaborate social virtual reality experience. This was also a fun way to gather virtually while maintaining physical distancing during COVID-19, while simultaneously learning more about our beautiful country.

Standard Bank Visual Arts Gallery
The Standard Bank Art Gallery frequently showcases the works of African creatives, and was in the middle of a major exhibition featuring over 50 artists from all over the continent when the COVID-19 pandemic struck South Africa.
The gallery then made the decision to move the exhibition online, entrusting Mann Made’s expert developers to virtually recreate the Standard Bank Art Gallery. Users are able to navigate the digital twin of the gallery space and then hover over the virtual replica of a painting or sculpture to watch a short clip by the artist explaining their inspiration and significance of the piece.
